Riff Dealers Turns 10 Today!

Exactly ten years ago, the label’s first release came out — the debut single “Electric Plains” by the Minsk-based post-metal band dOwnhill (listen on Bandcamp).

Riff Dealers was born as a joint effort between two creative collectives — Hippie Doom Squad and dOwnhill. Back then, we realized there were no local communities or individuals who could support us in releasing and promoting our music, so we decided to do everything ourselves. Over the years, we managed to put out nearly a dozen releases (three of them on physical media), organize shows for both Belarusian and international bands, and, perhaps most importantly, build connections with like-minded people from different parts of the world. It’s been an incredible journey and a truly valuable experience.

Looking back, there’s certainly a lot that remains unfinished. But everything we have achieved is already a meaningful contribution to the local scene.

Today, Riff Dealers is a one-person initiative that continues to operate, support artists, and spread Belarusian doomed-culture far beyond the country’s borders.

Big thanks to everyone who has been part of Riff Dealers over the years, and to everyone who continues to support the project!
