Belarusian stoner metal band Hippie Doom Squad, under the Riff Dealers label, has released a compilation titled “We Owe You Nothing: First Demos”. The collection features the band’s earliest recordings.
Previously, these tracks were shared unofficially and in very poor quality, but now they’ve been given new life. The band members personally handled the remastering process to preserve the raw character of the recordings while eliminating technical flaws.
“We Owe You Nothing: First Demos” offers a glimpse into the early sound of one of the first stoner metal bands in Belarus.
“For each of us, it was our first experience recording and playing in a band”, the musicians recall. “Over time, we became embarrassed by these tracks — because of the rough performance, pronunciation, and mistakes. But after listening to the remastered versions, we realized it was time to share them. It’s part of our story — naive, perhaps, but genuine”
The compilation is now available on all streaming platforms.
